Explore LA: The Getty Museum

On a beautiful and sunny California summer day, my roommates, Anna, Lauren and I headed out from our Irvine apartment to pick up Tiffany and start our Los Angeles adventure!

After living in Los Angeles for over a decade, you might assume that I've explored every tourist spot in the area, but on the contrary, this was my first visit to The Getty Museum. We drove down the 10 East and headed to our first destination. Of course, Tiffany being Miss GPS lady/ tour guide (her third time at The Getty this summer), she began showing us around. The museum felt busy with hundreds of visitors, yet there was still a relaxing, chill vibe to the area as well. The water trickling down the fountain and people of all ages soaking up the California sun on the vibrant green, soft grass definitely epitomized the stereotypical LA life. As families, and young adults explored the museums and gardens, The Getty was busy with a good share of visitors on this particularly beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Getty Museum offers numerous works of art by famous artist such as Van Gogh, photo galleries and intricate outdoor gardens. The museum overlooks downtown and offers great panoramic view of Los Angeles.

If you ever get a chance to visit LA, it's definitely worth taking a trip to the Getty Museum. Best part is, it's FREE (except for parking)!

With love,
Tracy
