Day trip to Santa Monica

What better way to jumpstart the summer than a day trip to Santa Monica? We headed over around 2pm and of course, were faced with some good old LA traffic. One of the lessons I've learned living in LA for such a long time is that traffic can actually be somewhat fun; you just need good music to hurry along the time. Nevertheless, we made it, and it was such beautiful day to be in Santa Monica.

Santa Monica Pier always provides an interesting walk, this walk we were faced with a very animated guy and his beautiful parrots. Here's julia with a sweet parrot that kissed her lips!

Anyone who knows me knows that I am the biggest fan of roller coasters. I'm not sure what it is about them, either the adrenaline or the feeling of flying that it gives, I love love them.

This roller coaster was actually the first one I've ever been on, and it brought so many great memories to be back on it with these girls again. Back in the early 2000's, when I was about 8 years old, this yellow track was still red and the now colorful pillars were still painted plain white. It's surprising just to see how much has changed! But one thing that has not change is that I still had a blast! Here's us waiting in line for the front seat on the roller coaster.

Of course, what would a day trip be without some sweets and snacks. Julia enjoyed a bacon wrapped hot dog with a classic coke, and Michelle had the wheat crisps! (Another old time favorite of mine)

We then headed over to the Santa Monica Promenade. It's such a beautiful shopping outlet, housing stores like Brandy Melville, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21 to higher end stores like Louis Vuitton. The feel of the promenade really has a Cali feel because while you're walking around, you'll definitely spot people in their swim suits, street performers, and musicians! Even if you're not the biggest fan of shopping, I guarantee you'll be entertained from just sitting outside and soaking in the sunny California vibe. I had such a great time both at the pier and promenade. A trip to Santa Monica is a definite yes in my book!

Sincerely,
Tiffany
